Join us for our next Career Connections Event, hosted by Nokia.
Our guest WATT will be Lauren Hasson, Founder of DevelopHer and a Software Engineer specializing iOS + InfoSec at Handle Financial.
Lauren's presentation - "Become a Negotiat[Her]: Learn the Secrets to Make More $ in Your Tech Career" has become wildly popular across the country. We are privileged to have her as part of our WATT community and in our own backyard - Dallas.
Lauren is paying it forward, mentoring professionals on how to network and promote themselves, and educating them on the soft-skills needed to advance their tech careers; key elements in what has enabled her to land her dream job and lifestyle.
Negotiation is an essential, but sometimes difficult skill to master, especially for women -- and women in tech. If imposter syndrome, fear, or unconscious bias are getting in the way of successful negotiations and earning what you deserve, Lauren can help. Negotiation is a skill that can be learned; learn to negotiate with confidence from someone who has tripled her base salary in less than two years by grounding herself in data and asking critical questions to uncover key leverage points.
[Those who RSVP will receive pre-work before the event to uncover your personal values and strengths to use in your negotiation strategy and make the most of the lessons you will learn at this event.]
Lauren Hasson is the Founder of DevelopHer, a career development platform for tech women by tech women, and a software engineer at a prominent Bay Area fintech company where she’s building their iOS SDK and working in information security. Her work has been featured in Apple keynotes, she was one of 100 top innovators invited to attend the UK G8 Innovation and Decide Now Act Summits with the United Nation’s technology council, and she’s won multiple, high-profile hackathons. She holds a degree from Duke where she completed a triple major with honors in electrical engineering, computer science, and economics in just four years. Lauren founded DevelopHer to help tech women advance their careers after learning she was paid 50% less than a male peer. And, because she invested in learning how to negotiate for herself, Lauren was able to triple her salary in less than two years. Now she’s on a mission to bridge the gender income gap, one negotiation, one woman at a time with NegotiatHer. She also hosts a podcast, The DevelopHer Show, which features leading tech women speaking candidly about their careers and lessons learned.
