READ ALL THE DETAILS BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR RSVP & PAYING THE EVENT FEES.

Bowron Lake Circuit booked for a group of 6 people starting at 9:00 am on Sep 3. This world renowned 116Km paddling circuit involves 10.8Km portage across a chain of 10 lakes, offering pristine wilderness & wildlife viewing opportunities.

Here are the high-level details:

• 6-7 days of paddling + full day of driving from Victoria to the park site (similar driving time for the return back to Victoria)
• Canoe or Sea Kayaks allowed. All paddlers must have appropriate experience and equipment for this kind of multi-day wilderness trip (the organizers reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone who is deemed unsuitable and in that case, the $10 event fee paid with the RSVP will be refunded).
• BC Parks charges non-refundable reservation fee of $18.00 (+tax) per canoe/kayak + circuit fees of $60.00/person (for both, solo/tandem).
• BC Parks allows cancellation more than 28 days before the departure date with full refund less $6 cancellation fees AND non-refundable reservation fees (no refunds for cancellations with 28 or less days).
• For now, I have paid all the reservation charges on my credit card. The BC Parks reservation related amounts can be e-transfered to me by each participant after the group is finalized.

REQUIREMENTS

• Necessary paddling & wilderness camping experience/equipment.
• Carpooling while driving to/from the site (fuel and parking cost to be shared - to be discussed further during the planning meetings)
• Each participant responsible for all expenses & equipment (potential sharing of equipment can be discussed in the pre-meeting).
• Leave No Trace principles apply and must be respected by all
• You are responsible for your own safety
• Must be double vaccinated for Covid19 and able to support prevailing pandemic related guidelines from BC Health Office.

MANDATORY FOR PARTICIPATION:

• Provide an emergency phone # to the organizer before the trip.
• Pay EVENT FEE: $10 per participant for all multi-day/overnight events. This fee is ONLY for defraying the annual subscription $$ payable to the MEETUP.COM (EVENT PARTICIPATION FEES & PAYMENT POLICIES details available at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cZrCDu4Lzpf9GctyRMTgVKlvlbE2yNX4/view?usp=sharing)
• Participate in the pre-trip meeting (s) scheduled by the organizer (meetings to discuss/workout details + practice paddling together)

• Events are led by volunteers who have no special training such as first aid, survival, etc.
• The organizer may refuse participation where there are concerns that may affect safety and well-being of all.
