Yes, you can arrive Friday night! The more the merrier!

Trail work at ASP continues! We plan to start work on the second new trail. This one runs from the Stone tower near the summit, eventually out to the ridge overlooking the Seneca Casino. It will eventually be 8 miles, but we'll focus on the first 4 miles first.

Unlike E-ville, trail building in ASP is more remote, and getting there takes longer from Buffalo (but shorter from Bradford, Olean, and Warren, hint..hint). So here are the details about what is going on:

Food: We will be providing lunch *on the trail* both Saturday and Sunday. This will allow us to continue working through the day. We will be way “out there” and want to make the most of the effort to get where we are working. WNYMBA will also be providing Saturday Night Dinner, although we will take voluntary contributions to help defray the costs.

Dates/Times: We will work both Saturday and Sunday. We will start at the usual 10 AM time both days.

Unlike previous years, we will *not* be biking to where we are working. The start of the trail is about a mile (all on a dirt road) from the cabins. We will probably drive the one mile, but you can walk or bike if you want to. Work will start on or near the dirt road. We will primarily be clearing the corridor and not focus so much on bench cutting, as we hope to follow up this effort with some mechanized building.

If you are driving down from Buffalo and can’t get up that early, we will have some signs as to where to go meet us, so don’t skip just because you have Friday night plans and can’t get up early Saturday. You can work one or both days.

Lodging in the Cabins: *very important*: If you want to stay overnight in the cabins, you have to let us know ahead of time. You can do this either by e-mailing me at [masked] or clicking the RSVP here on the meetup page. We hope to have lots of people, so we want to make sure we aren’t overbooking! If you are staying overnight, bring some warm clothes and a sleeping bag.

This is going to be a lot of fun!
