Women On Wheels (WOW)
Who are we?
● We're a non-competitive club, energetic group of women of all ages who have a passion and love of cycling. We participate in event rides for various non-profit causes & organizations. ● Goal & Mission:
Develop & strengthen physical and mental stamina, endurance and over-all well being while forming friendships..

● Designed for road and hybrid bicycles. For beginning, intermediate and advanced cyclists wanting to ride with women in a non-competitive atmosphere. ● We offer educational cycling workshops on:
~ bicycle safety & maintenance ~ individual/group riding tips
~ efficient & effective group long-distance riding skills

● When: Saturday and/or Sundays with occassional rides through the week based on interest & participation. **We are a seasonal club starting in March - October. We will post other events, socials or the occasional rides in off season depending on weather conditions. For safety we don't ride in rain or strong windy conditions.

●Where: Various regions in Sacramento county, Bay area and outlining areas. ● Rides based on participation and are a no-SAG ( Support And Gear) cycling group. ● Two cycling groups offered based on participation & need-
(A group: more experienced cyclists 20+ miles @ 16+ mph)
(B groups: less experienced cyclists 13+ miles @ 13+ mph). Recommended Requirements:
● Helmets a must. No helmet, no riding - safety first!
》Bring: plenty of water, (water bottles or hydration pack), cell phone, ID, medical card, sunscreen, sun glasses, chapstick, bandana (a multi-purpose function) and most importantly money for a snack afterwards. ● Carry bike support gear: extra tire tube, air pump, bike tools.

● Come prepared: tires pumped, brakes, gears & tire check.

● Ride Day- Our motto is:
"No cyclist left behind or stranded!" Call, text or post on meet-up if you have to cancel or may be a little late. • To keep on schedule, we leave promptly 15 minutes after our scheduled ride & warm up. •New cyclists must arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled ride to fill out waiver forms.

Cosumnes River Bird Preserve ride

Cosumnes River Preserve

Come and get out of the city to explore the unique Bird Preserve located just south of Elk Grove off of Franklin Blvd. Often seen are rare birds, an otter or beaver, and friendly bird watchers. These roads are safe to ride and generally with very few cars on our route. We will ride 13-15 mph and approximately 1.5 - 2 hours, depending on cyclists. Bring binoculars if you want to view the birds after our ride. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy all nature has to offer. A few jerseys still available for sale. If interested in purchasing, bring check or cash only.

Carpool for Party Pardee event

Leatherby's Family Creamery

Carpooling available for the event since parking is limited. Leaving early in time to get good parking and bikes mounted on car racks. Hint: please donate a few bucks to the driver for gas for their time, etc. Always appreciated. ♡ Remember to wear your WOW jersey as we ride as a team.

Party Pardee

Charles Howard Park

Party Pardee, April 6, 2019, a Sacramento Bike Hiker cycling event. To register and get full details go to http://partypardee.bikehikers.com/ Fees- $55 for 26 mile and $65 for 62 mile April 6, 2019, Howard Park, Ione, a short drive east of Sacramento. * This event fills up fast. No same day registration. The event ends registration once filled to 1500 riders. All WOW members can register under our WOW group name. This 26 and 62 mile bike tour travels the gentle rolling hills of Amador and Calaveras Counties. Rest stops will be stocked with a large variety of fruit, snacks and drinks.

Canal Cadence Ride


We will meet at the Starbucks outdoor patio. From there, we will ride to the canal. Focus will be finding your cadence to maximize your mileage to avoid exhaustion on long rides. All levels and abilities welcome. Will ride 12-15 mph as a group.
