The WordPress Helsinki meetup group aims to bring people together of all skill levels, from beginners to WordPress professionals. WordPress Helsinki is purely organised by community volunteers, and operates under the WordPress code of conduct.

In February we will move away from technical topics and look into personal well-being. Elisa Heikura is a familiar speaker in WordPress meetups and conferences in Finland. This time she will give us a presentation about the impostor syndrome, this is how Elisa describes her talk:

“In short, nobody is an imposter and none of us has a syndrome. Nonetheless the actual phenomenon is both real and harmful. What is it, where does it come from, and why does it bug especially developers? And above all: what the hell can we do about it?

17:15 – Doors open
17:30 – Opening words
17:40 – Presentation: Why do we suffer from impostor syndrome?
19:00 – Drinks & networking at Nordcloud
19:30 – After meetup drinks at a nearby bar

This session will be in English.

Drinks & snacks will be kindly sponsored by Zoner Oy (https://www.zoner.fi/).

As always, if you can’t make it earlier or just want to sit down for a chat, you’re more than welcome to join us after the talk for drinks.

If you have any questions, leave a comment or contact us directly through the contact form on Meetup.com. You can also find us on Twitter @WPHelsinki (https://twitter.com/WPHelsinki) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/WPHelsinki/). If you prefer a more direct approach, you can find most of the community members on the #meetups-helsinki channel on Slack.

See you in February!

The local Finnish Slack community is a great place to meet other WordPress enthusiasts online and get help and advice with WordPress-related issues.

We’ve written a brief introduction on our meetup page if you're interested in joining: http://www.meetup.com/WPHelsinki/pages/Slack/

If you’d like to speak at an upcoming meetup or suggest some topics you’d like to hear about, leave a comment on our meetup board (http://www.meetup.com/WPHelsinki/messages/boards/thread/49133846) or contact us on the #meetups-helsinki channel on Slack.

Our meetups are run by volunteers and could always use some support from the professional community. If your company is interested in sponsoring an upcoming meetup or hearing more about it, leave a message on the #meetups-helsinki channel on Slack or contact us directly through our meetup page.
