Brando Nakamura and Steve Itano are a couple of enthusiast who have fallen down the Rabbit Hole of Japanese Knives & Water-Stone Sharpening. Come join them for a beginners class on how to use a water-stone to sharpen your knives.
The class will run approximately 2 hrs. They will cover a little history and background on Japanese cutlery and water-stones. Then for the bulk of the time it’s all hands on. They will guild you through the techniques of how to prepare & use water-stones, and how to sharpen your knives.
Bring your favorite knife to sharpen, 5-10” chefs knife, Santoku, Nikiri what have you. (No serrated blades) If you have stones, bring them. Otherwise, we'll send you home with your very own set!
The class is limited to 8 people, no previous experience needed and pre-registration will be required.
