Now that I think about it I believe they have those "treadle" one way tire spikey things across the exit driveway so even after they lock the gates you can still drive out of the parking lot but they prevent cars from entering. But make sure of that before driving into the parking -lot, otherwise you might have to see if they can put you up at the County Jail next door - lol. I hear the food there sucks but the entertainment is amusing.

You are correct about the treadle on the exit lane. They close the swing gate for the entrance at 7:00 and close the exit swing gate at 10:00. There is no longer any parking at the jail or on the road shoulder outside the gate. I hear (travelosity) the jail is pretty much booked up right now. The entertainment must be good.

Don't they lock the gate there after sundown? I know the EBRPD locks the gates at many of their other parks.
