In Memoriam of Aimee & Lennie (Strawberry Canyon)

On May 27, 2012...aimee & Lennie went on their first WnT's hike with us.  It's fitting that exactly 1 year later, they will be taking their last hike with us (depending on the departure of aimee's bed).  I think we should send her off with a California roasting to keep her warm in Cambodia.  I thought about doing the hike in Wildcat to honor the spot that nearly broke her ankle when she got blind-sided by a dog. I still think it was just a ruse to get a free ride in the ranger's truck even though he took her to the wrong staging area, further away from her car. In any case, we had plenty of people to drive her car over to her and then, being that her clutch foot was out of commission, all the way home.  [Who drives a manual shift these days, anyway?!]  Of course, tomorrow would be the one day with 50% chance of rain.  Much as aimee needs to acclimate to Cambodia's monsoon season, the rest of us would probably like to stay dry for the hike so I decided to walk under the tree canopy in Strawberry Canyon. Come join us for the send off.

Happy Memorial Day!!!
