What we're about
This is a group of like-minded people from all walks of life and all ages - who, for what ever reasons have found that they are now lacking friends and a social life. Suggestions would be welcome from all members of what activities they would like to do. Its time we all started living again and having FUN!!
We are a small group and limit our member numbers so that you can get to know everyone in the group at different events. If you join, you are expected to come along to events!
This is NOT a dating site. It has been created to offer a safe sanctuary for like minded individuals.
There is a £5 annual membership fee to contribute to the upkeep of the website and other miscellaneous expenses in connection with running of the group's activities which is payable by 31 March each year.
The fee for guests to attend as a plus 1 is £1.00 for each event they attend.
We are no longer taking membership fees by cash, when you are given a wad of fivers on a Saturday night out in Wakefield, it is not easy to remember who has given you them when you find them in your handbag on Sunday morning, that is of course if you still have them and haven't spent them in Flares or the pie shop!
The easiest way to pay is by bank transfer, we will email the details to you.
Alternatively, this you can also pay by PayPal but the fees will be £6 as there is a £1.00 charge to cover PayPal's fees. To pay by PayPal please send £6.00 to email@example.com .
When making the payment please add your name as it appears on your meetup profile, to the notes area in the reference box so that we can tie up your membership fee with your profile.
Anybody who has not paid their membership fees by 31 March will be removed from the group, we do not have the time to chase for non payment of fees.
If you are new to the group you can attend one meetup event within your first month of joining, to see if you like the group before paying your membership fees. If you are unsure which one to come to, we recommend you join us on the next new members night, there is one every month but you are welcome to attend any event.
All members are required to attend one event every three months in order to keep their membership active. Membership fees will not be refunded in the event of non attendance.
Any member that does not attend an event that they have rsvp'd yes to, will be marked as a no show. If a member has three no shows they will be removed from the group.
If you do not attend an event within a 3 month period your membership will become inactive and you will automatically be removed from the group. You are welcome to join again at any time.
Please try to give 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend a event, to enable us to confirm table bookings etc. Please also change your rsvp to not attending, we do not always have time to read all the comments and work out who is no longer attending.
To enable hosts and new members to find the group when attending an event, all members will need to display an up to date photograph of themselves. We will not accept members without an up to date photo.
If there are less than four attendees signed up to an event, we may take the decision to cancel the event.
Thank you for your continued support, we are looking forward to organising many more events including, meals out, walks, cinema visits, quiz nights, drinks in the pub, local attractions, afternoon tea, bingo, nights at the dogs and many more legendary party nights!
