Walking Waterford & Beyond is a Walking Group that's all about single, widowed, divorced or separated people meeting up, making new friends and enjoying what the Great Irish countryside has to offer. Over 21's only.
It's about walking in the countryside, its about people connecting with each other who otherwise might be at home feeling its to dangerous or lonely to go alone. Its also about meeting likewise people to go and explore the many and various walks of Waterford and beyond with. Its about walking, friendship, companionship and enjoyment. Have you ever driven past a sign post, or footpath sign and wished you could go and explore it, but had no one to go with. Walking Waterford & Beyond walks are a voyage of discovery, of new places, new people and enjoying what our famous Irish Countryside has to offer.
Our walks are usually around 10-14km in length, sometimes more, sometimes a bit less. A moderate level of fitness is required for the walks as they can be tough enough at times.
We meet at our designated spot and car pool from there to where our walk begins. The driver always gets a donation for driving. €3 inside Waterford, €5 outskirts.
We always go for a bite to eat afterwards and a chin wag about life. Bring money for lunch.
Walking in the countryside always holds some form of risk! Waterford and Beyond and beyond are not responsible for any accidents that may happen to you out and about the countryside.
Members are responsible for their own safety and they attend all meet-ups at their own risk. By attending our walks you are agreeing to this.
If a member has any health issues they must ensure that they have their Doctors permission to take part and health issues must be declared to the walk organiser when you join as some of the walks may not be suitable for there fitness level, i.e. Cliff Walk or longer looped walks, where there may be a bit of a climb or the walks are more strenuous. The flat walks would probably be more suitable for them.
