Announcing a new Meetup for Walking thru the Valley of Heart's Delight & Hiking Around!

What: Migrating Newts & Wild Mushrooms Walk, Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve

When: Saturday, February 6,[masked]:00 AM

Rancho Ca?ada del Oro OSP
Casa Loma Road
San Jose, CA 95037

Join OSA docent Cait Hutnik for a 3-mile out-and-back walk to observe California Newts migrating to breeding ponds in Longwall Canyon. Learn about the amazing regenerative powers of newts as well as their uncanny ability to return over great distances to ponds where they were born. Along the way we'll observe a variety of seasonal wild mushrooms and learn the important role they play in the environment. Bring drinking water, wear layered clothing and sturdy shoes capable of getting wet as we will cross at least one stream during the walk.

Heavy rain cancels.
