If you’re looking to join a free walking group consisting of like-minded individuals with the goal of being Happy and Healthy, then you’ve found it!

Welcome to Walking to WELLNESS, where we meet once per month and explore various trails in beautiful Maple Ridge, BC. ANYONE is welcome, no matter your fitness level. This is a come as you are, no judgement group!

Why choose Walking?

Walking has been shown in research to have immediate effects on mood, energy levels and overtime strengthen your bones and improve cardiovascular function. Walking also helps to reduce anxiety, depression symptoms and boost happiness. There are SO many reasons to LOVE walking!

WALKING INFORMATION:

WHERE: Walks will take place on various trails in beautiful Maple Ridge once per month.

TIME: It will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes and will include a 5 minute warm-up and cool-down consisting of gentle stretches.

PACE: We will be walking at an easy and comfortable pace.

TERRAIN: Trails will be easy to moderate (on the easier side). This group is for ALL fitness levels, abilities, sizes...this is a NO JUDGEMENT zone!

ATTIRE: Please wear appropriate attire and bring water.

In addition, as a practising Clinical Exercise Physiologist, feel free to bring any health and wellness questions to the table :)

WALKING INFORMATION: WHERE: Kanaka Creek Regional Park - we will be meeting in the main parking lot at the picnic tables and I'll be wearing a bright TEAL shirt - you won't miss me :) TIME: It will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes total and will include a 5 minute warm-up and 5 minute cool-down consisting of gentle stretches. PACE: We will be walking at an easy and comfortable pace. This is not a race and will be leaving no one behind! TERRAIN: Easy to moderate. Please be aware that there is some incline/decline and steps in a couple spots. ATTIRE: Please wear appropriate attire, hiking shoes preferable or runners. In addition, as a practising Clinical Exercise Physiologist, please feel free to bring any health and wellness questions to the table :) *DIRECTIONS*: The address is[masked] St. Right on the corner of Dewdney and 256th, there's a little elementary school (Websters) and you'll turn there (on to 256th), which will take you right to the park and parking lot.
