Dog friendly Walks by Water takes you on a journey through the landscapes of an England where rivers wind through enchanting countryside, sheer cliffs stand guard beside the mighty sea, swans glide serenely over romantic lakes and ancient canals echo with the toil of thousands of labourers who dug them through the meadows and forests of old. Keep fit, meet interesting and friendly people and see breathtaking sights most of us can only dream of.

River Colne, Grand Union Canal and stunning attendant lakes

Paddington Railway Station

A most beautiful 10 mile walk along the Grand Union Canal, lakes and River Colne. Please arrive by 10.20am as at 10.30am we shall go to the platform for the 10.45am train to West Drayton using our Oyster cards. Meetup fee £5. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/ boots or trainers. Lunch is by Colne Valley Visitors Centre. You should have adequate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. We shall aim to take the bus to Uxbridge from Denham at around 5pm after having a drink at the end of the walk and then tube back to London. My no[masked]

Charming Genoa, Spectacular Portofino and Stunning Cinque Terre

A tremendous weekend of walking with the most spectacular scenery in this most beautiful part of Italy ! There will be some hills and steep sections throughout all the walks - you have been warned so you must bring boots or very sturdy trainers ! Both Portofino National Park and Cinque Terre are stunning walks and you shall be decide for yourself which is the more overall appealing. Cinque Terre literally means five lands and refers to five villages along this coastline all linked up and is deemed to be one of the amazing walks that the planet affords and we shall be visiting at least three of them ! One of the highlights of the trip is visiting Portofino one the most romantic idyllic coastal villages in Italy if not the world. We shall be staying in delightful Genoa which is famous for its long history and lovely narrow maze like streets which we shall have time to discover. Please book your hotel through booking.com if you fancy for three nights and then state which hotel you have booked. Anyone who has not booked hotel their hotel and travel by Sunday 25th November shall be removed from the trip. Flying into Genoa offers up several options as you may fly directly into Genoa itself with BA, Ryanair and Easyjet or can fly into Milan, Turin or Pisa with Easyjet - flights announced shortly - and then take the train to Genoa. PLEASE BE AWARE : We shall be leaving Genoa around 4pm on Saturday to travel to the walk that day. Also your flight home would need to be after around 6pm on Tuesday if possible. Of course you may fly in earlier or stay on beyond Tuesday. We shall be taking trains and buses to the walks without need of any taxis. The walks : Saturday Meet 3.45pm for train at Brignole at 4.20pm that arrives at 5.02pm - around €7 return - Santa Margherita to Portofino ( 2 hours ) We may decide to eat in Portofino or Santa Margherita before travelling back to Genoa arriving at around 10pm. Sunday Meet 8.45am with packed lunch for train at Brignole for train at 9.20am that arrives at 10.01am - around €7 return- Camogli to Portofino via San Frattuoso ( 6 hours ). An hour into the hike at Fornelli the group shall split as there shall be a choice of the tougher coastal path or a slightly inland path until San Frattuoso where we shall reconvene and visit the famed monastery. There shall be a chance to go swimming during this hike. We may decide to eat at Portofino or Santa Margherita before taking the train that arrives back in Genoa at around 10pm. Monday - Cinque Terre Day 1 Meet 8.20am with packed lunch at Principe for train at 8.51am that arrives at 10.23am after changing at Sestri. Likely train cost €16. Riomaggiore to Portovenere ( 6 hours ) At the end of the hike we shall have dinner and then shall take the bus to La Spezia followed by the train - likely cost €10 - back to Genoa arriving back at around 10pm. There is a possibility of instead taking the boat from Portovenere to La Spezia or Levanto before taking the train back to Genoa. Tuesday - Cinque Terre Day 2 Meet 8.20am at Principe for train at 8.51am - likely cost €16 - that arrives at Vernazza at 10.23am after a change of train at Sestri. We shall need to buy the Cinq Terre card for around €5 each. Vernazza to Monterosso ( 6 hours ). This walk may be extended by 7 kilomteres to Levanto or start at Corniglia if the path suddenly gets the all clear after having suffered flood damage last Autumn. Likely train back at 12.55pm from Monterosso that arrives in Genoa at 2.15pm - likely cost €8. Left luggage is available at Principe if anyone is flying back on Tuesday evening. For those who arrive before the official trip we shall do a short coastal walk on Friday - meeting at 4.45pm at Brignole for around €3 return for train that departs at 5.20pm and arrives 17 mins later in Nervi for the walk on Anita Garibaldi promenade leading into dinner at Nervi before taking the train back to Genoa arriving at around 10pm. Please only sign up if you intend to do all four walks, can walk 2.5 miles per hour on the flat for at least 10 miles and have adequate and appropriate insurance. Constable Country

Come go with the flow on this most beautiful and wonderful 8 mile river walk whereby we shall follow the footsteps of famed 18th century artist John Constable along the River Stour visiting the lovely village of Dedham, Flatford Mill and the site where The Hay Wain was painted. Please arrive by 10.20am to buy group return train tickets at around £20 each for the train at 11am that arrives at 11.55am. Return train ticket to Manningtree. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/ strong trainers. We shall have a coffee and try a delicious cake in the lovely National Trust cafe at the end of the walk before taking the train back at 4.53pm that arrives at 5.55pm.
