• Newhaven to Brighton Coastal Walk

    London Victoria Railway Station

    Lets go with the flow and do this really wonderful 10 mile coastal walk. Please arrive by 9.30am so as to facilitate the purchase of group train tickets at around £19 each to Brighton for the 10.16am train that arrives after changing at Lewes at Newhaven Town at 11.38am. Meetup fee £5. Please make sure you have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity. Please bring water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes / trainers. Also bring sunhat, suncream and sunglasses. We have lunch at a pub en route overlooking the sea. Most of the walk is along the cliffs and then with 3 or 4 miles to go the walk becomes an undercliff walk so the views should be especially great on a beautiful Summer's day.     A most wonderful trip to Pula in Istria this fantastic area of Croatia that is very Italian influenced with an amphitheatre and architecture due to its lively history ! Please book your Easyjet flights : 10.15am Tuesday 18th June to Pula 10.10pm Saturday 22nd June from Pula Please book any fairly central hotel in Pula and then put a comment on event page as to where you are staying. Anyone who has not booked their hotel and travel by end of January shall be removed from the trip. Some tremendous varied coastal walks plus free time to explore this lovely area !   • Saturday : Seven Sisters Sunday : Alfriston & River Cuckmere

    Come go with the flow and join us on this amazing weekend or just the Seven Sisters ! Please note that we shall be TRAVELLING LIGHT ! This is a very difficult and challenging walk which consists of at least 8 fairly steep hills so ONLY rsvp if you think you can do the walk and at a fairly reasonable pace too ie not slow. Otherwise you possibly could leave the walk early but its very tricky indeed ! Please arrive by 8.30am and we shall buy group open return train tickets to Seaford for around £19 each on the day and then take the 9.17am train to Seaford to arrive at around 10.45am after changing trains at Lewes. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket, walking shoes/boots or trainers plus a pair of sandals or lightweight shoes for crossing the Cuckmere River. We shall walk to Eastbourne along the famed Seven Sisters - 14 miles - one of the best coastal walks in the whole of Southern England including Beachy Head that affords the most wonderful views over the English Channel ! We shall go to the Belgian Bar at the end of the walk in Eastbourne where you shall need to book one night accommodation. Upon rsvping please state at which hotel you shall be staying at. The following morning we shall meet at 10.45am by the Belgian bar and take taxis at 11am ( everyone to give the driver £5 ) across to Alfriston the most delightful village where we shall have a wander and then have lunch then walk to Seaford by the fantastic meandering River Cuckmere for around 7 miles.   • Legendary 14 mile Seven Sisters hike

    This is a really incredible walk of amazing natural beauty.....the best walk on the southern English coast in fact.... from Seaford to Eastbourne that has many hills so please only sign up for this hike if you are physically fit enough to complete the walk. Meeting by BOOTS we shall buy group return tickets to Seaford at around £20 each for the 9.17am train that arrives at 10.47am after a change of train at Lewes. Please arrive at Victoria by 8.30am as the train is only 37 minutes later. Meetup fee £5. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking boots/shoes. Also bring light trainers or plimsolls if we decide to wade through the Cuckmere river early on. We shall stop for about an hour at Birling Gap National Trust House where we can eat our lunch, have drinks and use the facilities. At Eastbourne we shall return to our old favourite the Belgian Bar for fish and chips and much welcomed belgian beer! The bar is very near the pier....11-23 Grand Parade.   • Benfleet, Hadleigh Castle, Leigh on Sea the beaches and the pier at Southend

    Let's go with the flow and do this wonderfully varied 10 mile coastal walk ! Please arrive by 10.30am with £18 in cash including the meetup fee £5 so as to buy group train tickets for the 11.04am train. Return train tickets to Southend Central. Please bring water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers. You should be able to walk at 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity. We shall first walk 4 miles along the estuary to Leigh on Sea - visiting the remains of Hadleigh Castle along the way - where we shall have around 75 mins to explore and have lunch - a fabulous place for fresh locally caught fish ! We shall then walk to Southend pausing for an icecream along the way. At Southend we shall have the opportunity to walk up and down the pier for £2 - at 1.25 miles in length is the longest pleasure pier in the world.     A wonderful medium paced 10 mile Thames Path Walk ! Please arrive by 9.05am so that we can buy group train tickets for Marlow at £11.15 each for the 9.45am train with a change at Maidenhead that arrives at Marlow at 10.59am. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking boots or walking shoes if you do not have walking boots. Meet up fee £5. Please have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity and only sign up if you can comfortably walk 2.5 miles per hour. We shall leave the pub by 4.20pm and then take the train at 4.45pm back to London via Twyford that arrives back at Paddington at 6.20pm and pay the supplementary amount of £3.15 each being the group saver fare from Henley to Maidenhead.   • Beautiful Sandbanks to Swanage Coastal Walk by Coach

    Travelling by private coach a dream of a day in association with "Food and Drink Tastings - to learn and to mingle" - whereby the coach SHALL LEAVE at 9am outside Grosvenor Hotel just by Victoria train station we shall start by walking a few miles of coast before taking the Sandbanks ferry and then do the most wonderful 7 mile walk to Swanage that takes in the amazing Old Harry Rocks. Julia Bradbury simply loves this walk ! We shall be able to see Corfe Castle at close range on the coach journey back to London from Swanage.     A most stunningly beautiful 11 mile walk in the Sussex countryside and by a clockwise stretch of beautiful Bewl Water ! Bewl Water is a reservoir and is the biggest stretch of open water in the whole of the South East. Let's go with the flow !
