Run around Walden in the cool of the morning (flexible start time)

Let's beat the heat and crowds and have fun running around Walden Pond on Sunday. 9-11 minute pace depending on when you get there.

I posted this starting at 7am, but the parking lot opens at 5am. I hope to be running around the pond from shortly after 5am til about 9 and then hit the water. The pond path is a 1.7 mile loop so feel free to arrive any time in that window and run as many loops as you like.

To find me, look for a clipboard on the main beach. I'll be using it to track my splits, but also I will have a note listing whether I am running clockwise or counterclockwise on the current loop, so just run the opposite direction, staying on the path nearest to the water, and we should see each other. Or just chill at the beach until I show up. I would LOVE some company bc I've never tried to run 22 miles before. I'll probably be wearing black running shorts and a dusty aqua blue top.

Bring a suit and cool off after your run with a refreshing swim if you like. Also, be aware that the lot charges $5 for parking.

Oh, and please leave me a note on the clipboard. It will help me keep going.

Hey everybody, thanks so much for coming! And if you tried to come but the lot was closed, I'm really sorry. I don't know why they close it even when it's not full, it's very frustrating. I just have to say though, what a difference it makes to run with WTR. My last long run was an early abort, but today, 22 miles with you felt easier than 18 alone. I am SO grateful for those who were able to come, and I hope you had a good time too.

Monica, that's awesome! I had a look at the percy summits online--they sound great! I'm hoping to bag[masked]-footers next weekend, now you go and make my wishlist even longer :-) FUN TIMES! here was the writeup that impressed me: http://adrianpayeur.c...

The 'flexible' start time contributed to a bit of disorganization for me since it was my first meet up that I actually attended. I t looked like some people ran early or swam then ran...not really sure. I ran two laps and swam for 40 min. And had a great time at the place but didn't meet anyone.

Sorry I didn't end up coming Alex! I decided to sleep in more than I originally planned since I still felt tired. Hope your run went well!

I'll be doing a bike/swim duathlon instead of a run/swim duathlon. See you on the beach at 9

Alex, I'm going to try my best to come to this! I don't know exactly what time I will be there, but definitely by 7 at the latest. I've always wanted to run around Walden pond!

I can be at Walden @7 but I may only run 2-3 loops before I hit the water (nice change from the Y). I never ran around Walden Pond before so I don't know the loop and could use some company. I am up for carpool if anyone else is interested.

22 miles in the form of 1.7 mile loops...that's intense! I'm already going to walden on saturday so I won't be there, but good luck! It's supposed to be getting cooler on Sunday.
