September 29 – Cajun 2 Step and Waltz
John Dougan will teach Cajun two step and waltz as a prequel to the zydeco lesson on Oct 13 and the ACZA zydeco dance at the KOC on October 20th. Many of us have been part of the ACZA community for many years. The ACZA graciously asked us for that afternoon and the WP board graciously offered to share our space and time. All WP members (remember that $5 membership you paid last spring?) are eligible for the ACZA member price of $14 for an afternoon and early evening of live zydeco music from LA, that is Louisiana. There will be Cajun food available for purchase.
I teach a very simple straightforward cajun twostep and waltz. You will learn the basic steps, timing, and some variations. I emphasize the basic mechanics of the steps so that once you have them, you may either have a relaxed social dance or a wild ride on the dance floor. We will also play with the dynamics of the cajun dance floor and its etiquette and rules.
We hold dances every Sunday Afternoon at the Knights of Columbus, 2620 Buford Hwy., Atlanta, GA 30324
