What we're about

This is a group for all you early 90's babies out there that are like me, fresh out of college and trying your hand at this whole "adulting" thing. Maybe you've just accepted a position here, packed up your station wagon with your partner and your dog, and traveled the 3,000 miles from the East Coast to find yourself overworked and seriously lacking in the friend department. Maybe you grew up 15 minutes from UW, know all the unmarked bars, secret places to park in Capitol Hill, and best campgrounds to pitch a tent in, but you woke up one day and all your college pals had moved away leaving you seriously lacking in the friend department. This group is for those of you who enjoy meaningful and stimulating conversation and would like to have more of it! It is for people who would like to see the city (and seriously awesome wilderness surrounding) in a new light and explore it together. It is also for people who balance their love of bourbon bingo, trivia night, drunken karaoke, and wine tastings, with a strong appreciation for those quiet nights that consist of a nice home-cooked meal, evening jog or fitness class, and a great book. If you're like me, you too are looking for your "community." We might find it here, we might not. It can be very hard to know where to start-especially if you're looking for something well-rounded and organic, but at least we will have tried, right? Let's go do some things!

Easy Hike: Franklin Falls

Franklin Falls Trailhead

Franklin Falls is a short ~2 mile round trip trail that ends up at...Franklin Falls. We did this a couple years back as a group, but it's a good easy hike and worth doing again for new members. Be prepared for wet and misty conditions, especially if you get close to the waterfall. I highly recommend a good rain jacket since the water splashes around quite a bit. It might be May, but there still could be some snow or slush on the trail, so try and bring some shoes that you'll be comfortable actually hiking in if it gets a little wet on the trail. Parking in the lot requires a Northwest Forest Pass.

Seattle Food Truck XXVIII Roundup Brunch

Denny Park

Come join us for Seattle’s favorite monthly food truck brunch. This is the kickoff event for the summer! There will be the best streets eats on four wheels paired with DJ’s and lawn games in Denny Park! No matter your tastes, there is truck for you! Best of all, admission is completely FREE! We'll meet at the information table on Denny and 9th at 11:00am. Since everyone will most likely get something different, we'll converge on Denny park as a group to eat food and have drinks. This is an excellent way to meet fellow wanderers; whether your new to the group and looking for new friends or you haven't been to one of our events in a while, come join us for an afternoon of fun!
