Description: We’ll wind our way through the McDowell Mountains up the scenic and moderately strenuous Tom’s Thumb Trail. We’ll start at the Gateway Trailhead off of Thompson Peak Parkway on the Gateway Loop Trail. As we climb closer to the Thumb, the pretty desert landscape changes to fascinating sandstone boulders.
