This is part of a beginner-backpacking series that includes two early evening Sunday classes, and a two-night, beginner backpacking trip.
- Class 1: Gear & Food, August 25, 2013, 5-8 PM
- Class 2: Planning a B/P Trip, Sunday, September 8, 2013, 5-8 PM
- Trip to False Cape State Park, September 27-29, 2013
This class teaches how to plan a trip, including trip selection, route planning and use of maps/GPS; Leave No Trace basics; water planning (purification options & need); first-aid kits; and emergency planning. You’ll have the opportunity to do some interactive map reading.
Attendance for classes and trip is limited and requires registration. Class size is limited to 20 people; students must be 16 or older. Each class costs $20 for expenses; payment (check or PayPal) in advance will confirm your spot. You may register for either or both classes. (Contact Liz to register.) Both classes will be held in the Bethesda Club Room, White Flint Station Condos, 11800 Old Georgetown Road, Rockville, MD, conveniently located one block from the White Flint Metro station and with free street parking.
