Spectacular views from Md Heights

We had a picture-perfect day (see perfect pictures posted by Joanie) for last Saturday's hike up Maryland Heights and around Harpers Ferry. Fifteen hikers finished a rather tiring (not tiresome!) hike, and several took the opportunity to try Harpers Ferry's famous frozen custard. It really is as good as they say.

In addition to the de-rigeur lunch at Overlook Cliffs, we visited Virginius Island, the Point, the Stone Fort, the lower town, St Peter's Church, Jefferson Rock, Harper Cemetary, and Storer College. A very full day.
