I just realized that I lost one frank Thomas glove in occidental. Does anyone happen to have it or turned it in to the union?

Thank you Mike for all the effort you put into planning these events! The weather couldn't have been more acomondaing for this time of year! The route was on decent roads no goat paths, greatly appreciated. It's always a pleasure to ride with long standing friends and meeting new ones! I look forward to many more runs in 2014!

JohnnyMac's post about 350+ miles freaked a few of us out - looks like it's more like 150ish miles, correct?

    December 31, 2013

    • Sam

I assume he's including his "commute" to the ride. The roundtrip from Felton to Greenbrae is about 170 miles, so it'll be a 320 mile day for me, which is why I'll be on the good ol' Beemer instead of the Duc. Well worth the miles for the beautiful ride -- looking forward to it!

      December 31, 2013

    • Dan

Sam, I will be at Starbucks near 85/280 ( 22390 Homestead Rd. Cupertino, CA 95014 ‎ ) at 7:30, KSU 7:45. We will take 280 N. making a swing through the rest stop just N of 92 at 8:15. Anthony will be meeting at the Chevron at 280/Hickey in South SF leaving at 8 am (about 20 min ahead of us), but you need to touch base with him. It gives you a couple of options if you want company on the ride to Greenbrae. Both stops have gas in case you need it and there is another gas station at Bon Air Center in Greenbrae.

      December 31, 2013

  • Mike T.

The ride starting in Greenbrea (and yes there is a Chevron station just before you get into the shopping Ctr to FILL UP) is only 149 miles round trip back to Greenbrea. And there is a gas stop in Petaluma. Maybe he was going to do it twice?

Well today I heard a dreadful rattle between 3-4k rpm, I'm assuming it's the CCT. Won't be able to fix in time.. Grrrrr

    December 31, 2013

  • Karen L.

I'm really bummed, but I can't go on my first ride with you guys. I have a seriously stripped bolt on my swing arm, and nobody stocks it. I guess I'm lucky my rear wheel didn't come off on the freeway :-) Have a great ride, hope to see you all next time!

My husband and I would be coming from Alamo and we are new to this group and are thinking about this ride, but were wondering how we were going to get this many people in for lunch at the Occidental Hotel?? Also about the logistics of this many bikes on the road. Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks. This sounds like a fun group of riders.

    December 30, 2013

    • John L.

Mike will have us in groups based on the actual number of bikes that show up and riding style, with a lead and tail that knows the route and the area. We'll leave in sections and possibly only see the others at the destination or once along the coast. Should be a great day of riding and food, the people, well, you'll need to find that out for yourselves. Hope to see you in Greenbrae!

    December 30, 2013

    • Karen L.

Thanks Carol. I diagnosed the problem and I need a part the Harley dealership just doesn't stock (because it isn't supposed to break!). I'm out for this ride.

Hi Gena, This will be my first ride with this group. I have a back rest on my bike for the pillion... but my BMW is not the most passenger friendly bike. Here is a pic that kinda shows the back seat. http://www.meetup.com...

Hey Mike. I just went out to get my bike ready to ride and found a pretty big problem with my rear wheel. I'm trying to get it fixed, but I don't know if that will happen in time.

      December 30, 2013

  • Bruce S.

Thanks for all the comments about warm gear. I ended up getting the gear from Cycle Gear, but I wont get to try it out on the ride as I am now headed east to Reno. Have to keep your significant other happy! Hope you all have a great ride!

Hey Mike, what time is KSU out of Greenbrae?

    December 29, 2013

      December 30, 2013

    • Anthony

Thanks for that Mike. Marisol and I will be taking a scenic route thru sF to Greenbrae, in case anyone wishes to join us. KSU at 8am from Chevron at 280/Hickey, but only if confirmed with me first, else we'll just see all y'all in gB.

If you don't have heated gear and only need to stay warm for this and a few rides go to Ace or Orchard hardware, CVS or Safeway and get some "Grabber" Foot Warmers and or hand warmers. You can get some for a low as $2.95. Put the foot warmers in your boots and some hand warmers in your gloves, even put some in your front and rear pockets. I've even heard of people putting then IN their underwear!!

    3 · December 14, 2013

    • Jaylene A.

Got my instant hand and foot warmers, along with a new pair of glove inserts from REI.. My fingers seem to be the only thing that eally bothers me, from the cold..See you all in Concord on the 1st...
