- 7th Annual Topaz Lake and BBQ Ride (2 day ride)
Let's do an over-niter to Topaz Lake. We've done this ride for the last six years and always have a great time! The Lodge has a nice lounge with either live entertainment or a DJ and of course adult beverages, a nice little Casino and a typical casino restaurant. And don't forget the traditional dunk in the pool upon arrival. The ride itself is what keeps us planning this every year, these are some of the most scenic roads across the Sierra! Lunch on Saturday is at the Jackson Rancheria. Most of us will have dinner Saturday night at Mountain View BBQ in Walker CA. (a very short ride) Some may stay at the Casino and have dinner there. Sign up now and book your room. Please CALL NOW as there are ONLY 20 rooms available to us! Topaz Lodge & Casino (there is NO other place around)[masked]. Be sure to Say "Wanderlust" to get the special room rate of $113 (tax included) for either a room w/ a King or 2 Queen beds. Rooms with more than 2 guests will be charged an additional $10.00 (plus tax) pp. This rate includes continental breakfast and fun books! There is a 72 Hr Cancellation policy! - Just another EPIC Ride!! Banff & Jasper National Park...Canada!!
Hello Wanderlusters!! For your enjoyment I have put together an 11, yes that's ELEVEN, Day ride to Banff and the Jasper National Park in Canada! About 55 hrs of seat time and a few miles short of 3000!! This is the Route; http://tinyurl.com/yxsx3msg First of all you will need a PASSPORT!! If you don't have one you'll have plenty of time to get one as this ride will happen in Mid JUNE! But time slips by fast so start now if you want to go, it takes a few weeks. If you already have a PASSPORT check to see if it's going to still be valid to the end of June, they do EXPIRE. Before I get into the Awesomeness of this ride you need to know and book HOTELS, NOW, NOW, NOW!! As I have put this ride together later than I usually do, hotel rooms are quickly disappearing! Most importantly get a room in Banff, that's the most desirable place and has the least, and more expensive rooms. It's the only place I had to use "Hotels.com" calling the front desk was way too expensive and some didn't have rooms, but rooms were available on the booking sites, ie, Expidia, booking, hotels.com and such. MAKE SURE YOU PICK A ROOM THAT HAS A CANCELLATION!!!!! Some have a Great price but YOU CAN'T CANCEL IT OR GET ANY $$ BACK! The one I have at the Red Carpet Inn in Banff has a 72 hr cancellation. Usually what happens is the Hotel booking company's will dump the rooms they are holding back to the hotels about a week before and you can get rooms cheeper....that's my hope. So here we go.....MAKE SURE YOU SAY WANDERLUST to get the lower rate if they offered one. All of the rates I'm listing are for 2 queen beds w/ a AAA discount. If you want a King you'll have to work that out. There may be places that are cheaper near these locations, these are the places I'm staying. 1st night, Sat June 15.
