This is an architectural/historical tour through some of the prettiest and most interesting parts of Georgetown. We will view and discuss architectural landmarks along the way to visiting the C & O Canal locks, Oak Hill Cemetery (final resting place of William Corcoran of museum fame, Katherine Graham of the Post, et al.), Dumbarton Oaks Museum and Gardens (birthplace of the United Nations), Georgetown University (the nation's oldest Catholic university), the vertiginous steps made famous by The Exorcist, and the Old Stone House. Total distance is about 5 miles, which we will take at a leisurely pace.
