It is not the most important, but for some reason it is stuck in my mind. From Farquharson's translation:

The noblest kind of retribution is not to become like your enemy.

Not in a simple sense, on a social level like in war, but in subtle sense, on a very personal level. It implies knowledge of what is your enemy more that who is. And coming from a man who wrote Meditations it shows dignity.
