TokuMX Internals, the "What", "Why, and "How" of Fractal Tree indexing for MongoDB - Zardosht Kasheff (@zkasheff ( - MongoDB applications handling big data often hit I/O bottlenecks. This presentation will discuss how Tokutek's Fractal Tree indexes, used in TokuMX for MongoDB (a MongoDB v2.2 drop in replacement) improve performance by helping eliminate I/O bottlenecks in big data applications. I compare Fractal Trees to B-Trees, the traditional data structure used in many databases, and demonstrate how and why TokuMX provides the benefits over vanilla MongoDB: * improved write performance on large data * compression * no fragmentation

Getting (close to) ACID using MongoDB - Amine Ferchichi ( - This talk will be dedicated to walk through alternatives that can be used to get MongoDB running as close as it can get to an ACID based DB.

Do you have a topic that you'd like to present or one that you like to see covered? Please contact the organizers and let us know (! This is a great venue for lightning talks, first time presenters, and deep technical dives. We all want to hear from you.

This meeting will be held at the CustomInk office in Tysons Corner. The office can be a bit difficult to find, please see check the "CustomInk - Driving Direction (" or "Metro Directions (" for details.

See you there!
