The UX Careers Handbook by Cory Lebson
Hey everyone, here's the announcement for our October book club! We've discussed what UX is and how different organizations do it, but the question on many of our minds is: How do I move up in the UX industry, or how do I even get a job in the first place? This month we'll discuss things like:
- Our own, personal stories about how we got into UX
- Whether the suggestions the book makes and helpful or not
- Where we hope to go next in our careers
I'm particularly excited for this discussion. No matter where you are in your career you'll have something to contribute to this conversation, so I hope everyone from the newbies to the old hats will join us. As an added bonus, Cory (the author) will be joining us after our discussion to talk about and take questions around his book!
As always it's not absolutely necessary to read the books to have a good discussion but since it is, after all, a book club I really encourage you to read them if you plan to attend.
And speaking of attendance, I'm afraid there will be limited spots so please be considerate of others and only click that "RSVP Yes" button if you're sure you can and will attend. Please update your RSVP if you find that you can't come.
Finally, a reminder that there are three pinned discussion threads (under "Discussions" up there in the local nav) to suggest improvements to the meetings as well as books to read or locations to meet at.
