From antiquity to the Renaissance, The Great Wizards of History is a profound exploration of ideas and practices that were often contested or condemned even as they demonstrated the brilliant results of magical practice. The history of sorcery comes alive with unique portraits of some of the most remarkable, infamous and colourful practitioners of magic and alchemy from prehistory and pre-Socratic Greeks to the Middle Ages and beyond.

Join author Guy Ogilvy as he reveals the fascinating beliefs, techniques, and powers mastered by these influential figures. Guy will talk about how the book came about - as well as certain aspects of the story that he found most unexpected, such as the use of shamanic techniques by the so-called pre-Socratic philosophers of Ancient Greece.

After a talk, there'll be time to ask Guy your questions and get your own copy of The Great Wizards of History signed by the author.

We hope you can join us!
