Wave of Energy classes are a way to liberate yourself through dance. Give yourself the freedom to move your body, release inhibitions and be yourself just as you are in each moment. There are no steps to learn, instead we learn to listen to ourselves.

Whatever your age, ability, fitness or experience of dance, you are very welcome. All you need is willingness, curiosity and a desire to move.

Friday Morning Open Floor Every Friday Morning 9.15–10.30am (arrive from 9am to start warming up, doors close at 9.20am) Peter Griffiths Hall, Forest Row Village Hall Lewes Rd, Forest Row, East Sussex RH18 5ES Cost: £10 These are all drop-in classes. No need to book. Just come along. Wear comfortable clothes to move in. Dance barefoot or in soft-soled shoes. How I recently described this group: It's dancing, It's a way of practicing being embodied (learning to listen to ourselves) so it's called a movement meditation (bringing our attention back to the body over and over again). We explore moving in different ways, moving towards freedom, whatever that might mean for us, it can be quite intimate and personal, or wild and expansive, different for us at different times and each class can be quite different. We're practicing flexiblity of our whole selves, emotionally and soulfully as well as physically. We start with a warm-up, and there's a clear beginning, middle and end, starting gently, building to a wild energetic peak and settling at the end. Friday morning is an Open Floor class, I'm teaching 5Rhythms in Forest Row as 'Saturday Night Sweat' once a month on the first Saturday of the month, it's similar but a very specific map of 5Rhythms which we don't use on a Friday morning.

First Saturday of the month 7.30–9.30pm. Saturday Night Sweat is a guided movement session, dancing through a simple movement map with a wide range of great music. Dance even if you're self-conscious, even if you're exuberant, even if you're wild, even if you're shy, even if you think you're too old, too much, too little, too big, too small, too unfit, even if you think you can't dance. If you want to move your body, you're welcome to join us. There will be water to drink there but it can be useful to bring your own.
