What we're about

The rosary is one of the oldest practices to honor the Sacred Feminine. Today our world faces unprecedented changes, and we need more than ever to tune our own hearts to the Mother's heartbeat.

At our Way of the Rose rosary gatherings, our primary purpose is to recite the rosary as a universal, nonsectarian spiritual path. We pray the rosary in the traditional way, and we include naming our heart's desires, as well as praying with the ancestors. We heartfully welcome newcomers to the rosary. We have extra rosaries on hand as well as plenty of introductory information.

We consider ourselves a post-denominational group. We come from varied spiritual and religious paths--varied experiences and curiosities. We are brought together by our desire for connection to Her. We know Her by different names: Our Lady, Great Mother, Goddess, Kali Ma, Sophia, Guadalupe, Divine Feminine, etc. We turn to the rosary as an ancient prayer that precedes any church. The earliest rosaries began as literal rose crowns that were used to adorn the Goddess. Later they evolved to the familiar form of beads and recited prayers. As we hold our beads and speak the prayers, we connect to the uninterrupted flow of this great river of wisdom. More than ever, we need Her.

Way of the Rose Austin is connected to a larger network of Way of the Rose community members that span the globe. We are spiritual friends who stay in touch with each other via The Way of the Rose (https://tinyurl.com/WayoftheRose) public Facebook group. Visit us on our Facebook group. We hope to see you in person in Austin!

Monthly Rosary Gathering

Trinity United Methodist Church

What to expect: The heart of what we do is pray the rosary, aloud, together. We gather to turn toward the one known by many names—Our Lady, Divine Mother, Guadalupe, Goddess, Kali Ma, Sophia—or by whatever name we like to call Her. We consider our group post-denominational; we exist outside of any formal religious institution or organization. We come from all walks of life, spiritual paths, experiences, and curiosities. What we share is simple: the desire to gather in a circle to pray the rosary in a spirit of friendship and conversation. In our circles we pray with the ancestors and we pray for our heart’s desires. As we hold our beads and speak the prayers, we connect to the uninterrupted flow of the Divine Mother's great river of wisdom. More than ever, we need Her. What to bring: We welcome newcomers to the rosary. Way of the Rose circles are open and free of dues or fees. If you have a rosary you would like to pray with, please bring that along. We will also have plenty of extra rosaries on hand. There will be a simple altar set up. You are welcome to bring an item to be present on the altar as we pray. You will take the item with you after we conclude. We appreciate any donations for our use of Trinity's space.
