Describe your experience with street photography?

I have been doing street photography for a while since I bought a Ricoh GRD3. I prefer black&white pictures in street photography because I believe it gives better contrast in the picture, specially when the subject is people. I like fix lens cameras hence the Ricoh GRD, and I own a Fuji X-Pro 1, that still has to go through further trials on the street, albeit its quality is outstanding. My street photography style is fast and sudden, so I am not a tripod guy. I rather get grain on the picture due to high iso, then setup a tripod for a frame that has pass the time to be captured. Time is essential in photography, expressions, actions can be lost if not captured at the right time, and I like to find myself ready for those moments

What do you hope to get out of the group?

I would like to share common experiences with other photographers, by sharing and learning from each other at the events. Talking with people that understand photography and are keen to learn about it. Discussing the pictures taken with others is one of the experiences I would like to share as each picture I have taken it has been very personal for me and opening up to people is something that I really look forward to find. I believe having fun before, while and after the picture session is also important :-)

Do you have any recommendations for cool areas to shoot street in or nearby London?

Brixton Market Brixton Skatepark The City of London at lunch time (Liverpool St. area) Bricklane at anytime The flower market on Columbia road on Sunday. Elephant & Castle 2 miles around the tube station.

I am an amateur photographer with 10 years of experience with D-SLR cameras. I do take the opportunity to do street photography while travelling for work around the world and I would like to share my passion for photography with others.
