[EVENING] - Improving testing with automation, AI and big data
James Farrier, an experienced test lead and founder of Appsurify, will talk about how we can use big data, AI and automation to improve not only the quality of applications we're developing, but also the quality of our testing. James will discuss: - How we can better target testing by using data found in repositories and the history of created defects to understand which are risky commits - How we can use the history of test execution to prioritise testing, find defects faster and reduce testing scope - Automating other test activities such as defect verification We're grateful to Clearpoint for providing our venue and drinks for the evening. We're charging a nominal fee of US $4 to cover the cost of pizza (Yep - this is a pain - but Meetup won't let us charge in New Zealand dollars! US$4 is approx NZ $5.50). Doors open at 5:30pm for refreshments. James' talk will start at 6pm, and take around 40 minutes with Q&A afterwards. We're expecting the evening to wrap up by 8. More about James and Appsurify James has 10+ years of experience in testing as a test engineer, lead and test manager. James founded Appsurify because he found testers to often be overworked, underappreciated and using tools which were either built in the 90's or not built for testers. Appsurify helps teams reduce their testing requirements using cutting-edge software intelligence and artificial intelligence.

    Public Group

WeTest is the heart of the New Zealand software testing community. We bring together people who are passionate about testing, providing a platform for sharing ideas and learning through experience-based sessions and workshops.

WeTest Auckland Attendance Policy / Three strike rule

WeTest events often have waitlists, and it’s unfair when keen members miss out due to ‘no shows’.

For this reason we have a three-strike policy. If a member has more than three ‘no-show’ marks within a calendar year, they will be removed from the group.

You will be marked as a no-show if you don’t update your RSVP by 9am on the day

We understand things do happen, so if you fall ill/have an emergency etc. after 9am, please send a comment to the organisers within a few days of the event and we’ll change your ‘no-show’ status.
