Hey @all,

we like to invite you to our monthly meetup at the trivago tower in Düsseldorf.

In September, we got two awesome talks:

Main talk

Markus Winand (@MarkusWinand ( / SQL-Performance Trainer) will talk about 'Volkskrankheit “stiefmütterliche SQL-Indizierung”'.

Proper indexing is a very time and cost-effective way to improve SQL performance. Yet it is hardly known how to get it right and how different ways to phrase a query affects indexing and performance. In this session I’ll explain why this knowledge is sparse and what developers can do about it. Finally we will go through the most important indexing mistakes by example and discuss them during a short live quiz with the audience.

Lightning talk

Simon Schliesky (@PlantProgrammer ( will talk about "Reverse engineering von Pfandbons".

Both speaker are able to held the talks in german OR english. So this depends on the audience :) If you want to get the talks in english, just leave a comment that the speaker can prepare.

Start is at 7pm.

The meetup is for free, beer is available (for free as well!) and we like to see you there :)
