Speaker - Dan Kuebrich from Tracelytics

  • Jan 18, 2011 · 7:00 PM
  • Wayfair Offices - 4 Copley Place

On January 18th we will have Dan Kuebrich at the Boston Web Performance Meetup speaking about server side performance! Here are the details: Modern web applications face increasingly high demands from users. Jobs that were once done in desktop applications—e-mail, word processing, and even media editing—are now the domain of web apps. As these applications scale to thousands (millions) of concurrent users, they are expected to continue providing a seamlessly responsive user experience, despite the increasing size and complexity of the infrastructure and systems supporting them. In recent meetups, the Boston Web Performance group has examined client-side optimization from a variety of angles. At the January meeting, Dan Kuebrich of Tracelytics will talk about server side optimization with a focus on service–oriented architectures and scaling out: how do we gain visibility into complex systems, what are we looking for, and how can we make the best use of what we find? Dan Kuebrich is the co-founder of Tracelytics, a web application performance management company. He has previously worked at Amie Street, Songza, and Sun. Dan holds a ScB in computer science from Brown University. Free pizza and tea/coffee will be provided. Map: Street View:

Even the presentation was blazing fast! Learned a few things and added to my list of good tools I need to try out. Great job by Dan and Jonathan!

The speaker was a little too fast. The material for the presentation was too generic for a focused group meetup.

Moving through the slides was a little too fast.

Was my first time at this meetup. I like that the speaker's approach to the talk. Present a problem and then present the different tools that would help solve the problem. I would suggest the speaker slow down and not rush the presentation. There are some good information he's presenting and I don't think there was a time limit to the meetup but correct me if I'm wrong, so he should relax and take time to present the material.

Speaker was good - knowledgeable and the presentation was interesting. Would be great if there was more discussion/interaction, and examples. He breezed through alot of material covering things only in passing. More juicy details, please.
