Developing Structured 3D Applications with Dart and WebGL

Hi all,

Our featured presenter will be Don Olmstead from Sony talking about building WebGL applications in the new Dart language.

Writing 3D applications for the Web requires a considerable amount of code, however JavaScript is not adept at handling large scale development. This presentation will introduce the Dart programming language as an alternative method for creating applications using WebGL. Development in Dart will be contrasted with development in JavaScript with a focus on language differences, performance, and tool sets. An example application using the technology will also be discussed, showcasing the capabilities of Dart and WebGL.

Don Olmstead is a Software Engineer at Sony Network Entertainment, working on web platforms for Playstation hardware. He is also an author at #AltDevBlogADay contributing his knowledge on game development. You can find him online at
