Fabrice ROBINET is a software engineer working at Motorola Mobility and chair of the COLLADA working group. Previously, Fabrice worked at Apple where he co-created with Thomas Goossens the SceneKit framework that allows to load, manipulate and render COLLADA assets.
Since the last COLLADA meet up in march, Fabrice and the COLLADA working group have been working on finding opportunities to bridge the gap between WebGL and COLLADA.
Consequently, the COLLADA2JSON project has been created and carries a proposal for a new JSON format designed from the ground up with an eye towards the requirements of WebGL, and is intended to be the final step in a COLLADA to WebGL workflow.
The talk will describe key aspects of the format like its consistency with typed arrays, WebGL, OpenGL ES 2.0+. Finally, Some demos will be presented.
Fabrice will be joined by Remi Arnaud, PMTS @ AMD, who will provide an update on the Rest3D working group.
