We cant walk on the moon but we can take a riverwalk. We can all raise a Slurpee and toast and celebrate the July 20,[masked] year moon walk anniversary, not by walking 240,000 miles to the moon on July 20th but with a 6 mile Tampa Riverwalk. Can you still see the original flag Neil Armstrong left on the moon? ( Yes! - Google it) I dont know- but for sure this short hike will check out and see the Tampa Riverwalk and experience the Tampa downtown that locals enjoy. See photos. You can park in downtown Davis Island area or on the side streets on Davis Island and meet us in front of the Davis Island 7-11 ( as a courtesy please dont park in 7-11 parking lot for 2 1/2 hours!) see 7-11 address above. We depart at 8: 30 am sharp to beat the July heat so please allow 10 minutes to park on street, get a Slurpee or coffee and be ready to hike! We will walk off Davis Island, up the Riverwalk to Curtis Hixon Park, and beyond and return back to where we started at Davis Island 7-11 by 12 pm. This is a short fun hike. Bring hat, 1 liter of water, sunscreen, snack and your good attitude. Please don’t sign up if you do not intend to stay with group and finish at 12 pm with group. Optional lunch afterward ( TBA) in Downtown Davis Island, located near the 7-11 where we started.
