Thursday evening open house offers sitting, a dharma talk, and conversation
Weekly Public Meditation Our center provides weekly ongoing offerings free to the public (donations are appreciated). All are welcome. 1) Open House When: Every Thursday evening at 7pm. Where: Main Shrine Room Cost: $5 suggested donation Meditation instruction is provided. This weekly dharma gathering is a perfect introduction to the Shambhala Buddhist teachings and an opportunity to connect with other practitioners. It begins with a group meditation practice, a talk by one of our senior teachers, discussion, and a reception. Meditating in a supportive group setting and sharing one’s insights and experience with fellow practitioners are a great way to apply meditative principles in daily life. Bring your friends! 2) Community Compassion Practice 3rd Thursday of every month at 7pm Compassion is the ground for good human society. Come and join other members of our community to rouse and strengthen loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity for yourself and others. Every third Thursday of the month – guided mindfulness and compassion practice from 7:00pm to 7:30pm. At 7:30, guided compassion contemplation, followed by discussion and a community reception.
