Weekly Tuesday Evening "Insight" Meditation On Russian Hill
Ongoing Weekly Tuesday Evenings. Everyone is welcome whether a beginner and wanting to learn more or a long time practitioner. "A mindfulness meditation practice allows the mind to calm and allows us to meet the inner heart of kindness and compassion.” ~Rik Center LOCATION: 2041 Larkin Street on Russian Hill (between Vallejo & Broadway). The present moment is always a good time to pause, sit and support our mindfulness meditation practice. Our group utilizes a vipassana practice of “insight awareness” meditation which offers us the opportunity to slow down and look within. We sit for approximately 35 minutes, followed by a talk/reflection. We provide cushions for those who are comfortable sitting on the floor. We provide hot tea and filtered water. The Tuesday Evening Meditation is facilitated through the Mindfulness Care Center and is offered on donation basis. No one turned away. We are supported by the practice of shared generosity so that everyone may attend. Mindfulness Care Center programs, classes and groups are for everyone to gain new insights into life, themselves and inner healing. The group is led by Rik Center Cofounder of the MCC/Mindfulness Care Center. Rik is a SEP/Somatic Experiencing Stress and Trauma Counselor/Practitioner, Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, plus he has served as a Buddhist/Interfaith Chaplain at San Francisco General and CPMC Hospitals. Rik has a private practice working with clients that focus on healing high levels of stress, unresolved traumatic anxiety and PTSD along with offering grief and spiritual counseling. He began his meditation practice in the late 80’s and in the past has been a community member of Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Rik now regularly practices at Abhayagiri a “Theravada Thai Forest Monastery in the Ajahn Chah Lineage" in Redwood Valley. Look forward to sitting with you...Come and join in! Rik

What we're about

This is an open group for people interested in mindfulness "vipassana" meditation practice and learning more of Buddhist dharma teachings. We come together weekly having a chance to sit and practice "insight meditation" with like minded people and create a supportive community with other practitioners.

Beginners or longer term meditation practitioners are welcome. The evening consists of a 35 minute sitting and dharma talk/reflection.

The Tuesday Evening Meditation is offered on a donation/dana basis. We are supported by the practice of shared generosity. Everyone is Welcome1
