Weekly Tuesday Evening "Insight" Meditation On Russian Hill
The present moment is always a good time to pause, sit and support our mindfulness meditation practice. We meet weekly on Tuesday Evenings. Everyone is welcome whether a beginner and wanting to learn more or a long time practitioner. The Tuesday Evening Meditation is located at 2041 Larkin Street. Hosted at the Church for the Fellowship of All Peoples, in the upstairs sanctuary. A mindfulness meditation practice allows you to learn new skills in seeing beyond habituated patterns and impulsive habits that no longer serve us and are non-productive.” ~Rik Center Our group utilizes a vipassana practice of “insight awareness” meditation which offers us the opportunity to slow down and look within. We sit for approximately 35 minutes, followed by a short break and then a dharma reflection. We have cushions for those who are comfortable sitting on the floor. We provide hot tea and filtered water. The Tuesday Evening Meditation is facilitated through the Mindfulness Care Center and is offered on donation, with a suggested donation of $10-$20. No one turned away. We are supported by the practice of shared generosity so that everyone may attend. Mindfulness Care Center programs, classes and groups are for everyone to gain new insights into life, themselves and inner healing. The group is led by Rik Center Cofounder of the MCC/Mindfulness Care Center. Rik is a SE/Somatic Experiencing Stress and Trauma Counselor/Practitioner, Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, plus he has served as a Buddhist/Interfaith Chaplain at San Francisco General and CPMC Hospitals. His private practice with clients working one-on-one focuses on healing high levels of stress, unresolved traumatic anxiety and PTSD along with offering grief and spiritual counseling. Rik began his meditation practice in the late 80’s and has sat over 365 days in Meditation Retreats. He's been a community member of Spirit Rock Meditation Center and now regularly practices at Abhayagiri a “Theravada Thai Forest Monastery in the Ajahn Chah Lineage" in Redwood Valley. Look forward to sitting with you...Come and join in! Rik
