What we're about

Wellington Facilitators Community of Practice

Regular learning and networking opportunity for trained facilitators

About Us

This group is open to all trained facilitators, both those for which facilitation is just a component of their job; and those work as professional facilitators.

This Community of Practice has been set up by individuals who, after attending one or more Technology of Participation™ (ToP) Facilitative Leadership Program courses, wished to have a means through which to continue their professional development as facilitators in a collegial environment.

ToP is one suite of facilitation methodologies among many, and most facilitators use a variety of methods and tools: we welcome all trained facilitators.

Why this group?

The purpose of the Community of Practice is to provide trained facilitators with the opportunity to gather as a group (in person or via Zoom) for a hands-on learning opportunity. At each session, a practitioner shares a plan for an upcoming facilitation event; or debriefs something that have run that they wish to seek feedback on, and learn from with the help of fellow facilitators.

The Community of Practice follows this format:

1. A member of the group volunteers some work they wish to seek feedback on. They send their facilitation plan / brief commentary to attendees via email 4 days prior to the meeting;

2. At the meeting, attendees provide feedback on the plan - facilitated by a member using the Technology of Participation Discussion Method (https://drive.google.com/open?id=14QAqSDEggZK5i-NckBn8qAxauPcex2lc)

3. Key learnings are recorded on a whiteboard;

4. At the close of the meeting, a member volunteers to provide a case study from their work for the next session

Once you have confirmed your attendance we will send you a Zoom link and information you will need to attend the meeting.
