What we're about

We provide classes in the traditional practices of Qi Gong and Tai Chi. Qi Gong involves stretching, breath work and meditation. It promotes a strong body and mind while also promoting a sense of relaxation and wellbeing. Qi Gong has thousands of years of history, and is easily practiced, so no matter your age or health, you are welcome to join us! There are literally hundreds of different Qi Gong systems, and we will be teaching a few of the more famous ones.

We are now also running yoga classes on a Sunday from 3pm-4.15pm. The classes are $15 and mat hire is $1.

Every SUNDAY we will have VINYASA YOGA 10:00am to 11:00am, the first class will always be free, classes cost PRICE: $15 ($10 if you are student, super gold card holder, community service card holder.) About the teacher: Daniela has been practicing Yoga for several years, both in New Zealand and Chile. Trying different styles, teachers and schools, she found her place in Vinyasa. Daniela’s classes will offer you a steady but comfortable flow, where you will be encouraged to move mindfully guided by your own breath. All classes are suitable for everyBODY and all levels of practice. Join her on the mat and start your own adventure of self discovery and connection. Kickboxing (Sanda or Sanshou) classes for women&men (first class for FREE)

Hi my friends, on Tuesday's we practice Chinese Kickboxing (Sanda or Sanshou)... **This class is half female and half male... so everybody is welcome! Sanshou (Wushu Sanshou), also known as Sanda (Wushu Sanda), Chinese boxing or Chinese kickboxing, is a Chinese self-defense system and combat sport. Wushu Sanshou is a martial art which was originally developed by the Chinese military based upon the study and practices of traditional Kung fu and modern combat fighting techniques; it combines full-contact kickboxing, which includes close range and rapid successive punches and kicks, with wrestling, throws, sweeps, kick catches, and in some competitions, even elbow and knee strikes. Our principal martial arts style is Shaolin wushu, so we try to learn this modality with our heart and never try to attack or defend with bad intention (like produce a dislocation or brake a bone with anybody, here we are like a family in martial arts, learning with love and compassion.) We leave outside our school any ego that can bring trouble in the classes. So, come and try your first class for FREE!!! We practice: Tuesday (usually is Sanda) and Thursday (usually is shaolin wushu)... but sometimes we change days and what we learn. About the teacher: Hernan has practiced Kung Fu and Wu Shu for 17 years. He won many tournament championships in South America, as well as world championships in Brazil and here in New Zealand. Hernan learnt his Kungfu from a Chinese Shaolin monk. He taught Kung fu in Chile, and now Wellington, New Zealand! WHAT TO WEAR ( not necessary if you do not have all): A comfortable top, mouth-guard , bandages, boxing gloves, flexible pants and flat shoes (just in case) WHAT TO BRING: Yourself, good energy and a smile :) TIME & DAYS: TUESDAY: 7:00pm TO 8:30pm PS: When it's a beautiful day we sometimes go to practice in a park. So please try arrive early (6:50pm) GOLDEN RULE: Please only RSVP if you are sure you can attend. Shaolin Kung Fu Wushu trial free session

Come and try a Shaolin Kung Fu Wushu class for free at Newtown Acupuncture Centre !! This Kung Fu class is for everyone over 14 This is a general class cater for beginners up to experiences Kung Fu fighters. In these Kung Fu classes, you will learn Tao Lu (Kung Fu performance form), Qi Gong (Energetic breathing techniques), Sanda (Chinese kick boxing, similar to Muay Thai), Jibengong (basic techniques), Tai Chi, Chin Na (Self-defense).
