Hi strengths community,
I hope you're all keeping safe and well.
We're thrilled you can all zoom in tonight for this Meetup Group tonight - it's going to be an interesting challenge to host an interactive workshop on Zoom! I'll be keen to hear your feedback afterwards on what worked well/what could be improved as we'll be doing a lot more of this in the foreseeable future.

We contemplated whether to cancel this week's Meetup as there's just oh-so-much going on in everyone's headspace and lives at the moment. We hope you are all keeping safe and well (and more importantly, washing those hands and keeping your physical distance from each other!). It's times like these that our parenting strengths can really shine and struggle! So we figured many of you might appreciate this workshop where we can focus in on your parenting strengths (and struggles), especially in the current climate and with upcoming homeschooling looking like a strong possibility for many of us.
Please update your RSVP to this Meetup page as to whether you intend to join in or not (and non-Wellingtonians are also welcome now of course, so feel free to invite them). My Zoom account has a max of 100 participants allowed.
Family-friendly Strengths Event hosted by Antonia Milkop, coach and strengths advocate who will lead us in a terrific evening exploring how CliftonStrengths impacts families and young people as they discover what they love most and do best in life.
We all know that there is no one "right" way to parent. Every parent and every child is unique. Parents can shape a better future for their kids by helping them discover and develop their unique talents and strengths.
This workshop is intended for parents, caregivers or those working with children who’d like to find out more about strengths-based approaches. Or anyone who’s interested in this topic is welcome to come along!
We’ll cover the following:
• The philosophy and science behind strengths based parenting
• How to identify your child(ren)’s strengths
• How to identify your parenting strengths
• Ideas for incorporating strengths-based approaches
It’ll be an interactive workshop with plenty of time to share ideas and group discussion. The evening is aimed towards adults/parents but we’d love to make it as family friendly as possible, so please mention in your RSVP if you’d like to bring children with you (and their ages) so we can best make them feel welcome and included.
