Beginners Ukulele Workshop

~ Ukulele is the instrument of friendship, love and peace ~

What will you learn?
In the first hour, you will learn the basics of tuning by ear and uke holding, some basic chords, strumming and playing a song or two on your ukulele. The second hour will be spent adding a few more chords, different strums, and practising in dyads for peer feedback and a bit of fun. At the end of the two hours, you will have learned basic ukulele playing skills you can build on - with a smile on your face and a song in your heart :)

What a FUNtastic group of Ukulele Beginners! We had a wonderful Sunday afternoon enjoying the happy sound of the Mighty Ukulele. We moved through the basic stages of learning to hold the uke, the Jimi Jimi strum, finger progressions and stringing the notes together. Then away we went singing our ukulele songs, starting with 2 chord songs Achey Breakey Heart, Hush Little Baby, into 3 chords with Newtown UkeTown, Lion Sleeps Tonight, My Bonnie and we even got into 4-5 chords with This Land Is Your Land etc. Then half the group listened to the other half uke & sing. It was fun! The time went very quickly. Thanks to all those who attended and contributed to a very enjoyable afternoon. Hope to see ya all at our Weekly Ukulele Tuesday Meetups. Practice and remember to Uke & Spread the Love :)
