Mt Lowry Challenge

Right on our Doorstep!

At the moment, there is a 10% discount if you use the discount code "Luke" when registering (therefore the 22 km is $45, not $50)

Trail running designed for all levels of fitness and skill, Mt Lowry Challenge attracts around 400 runners and walkers each year.

Challenge your own personal best by following in the footsteps of elite runners like Melissa Moon, Carline Thomas or James Coubrough. Or if you are new to mountain running, this short course has all the elements needed to develop your skills.

The track undulates through beech and manuka forest and enjoys fantastic views over the Wellington Harbour.

22 km or 11.75 km races.

"This is one of the best mountain runs in Wellington" - Melissa Moon

A few of us were talking about daypacks - just checked out Kathmandu, they are having a sale and a few of them look decent for running:

      Cheers Patrick. Good spotting.

Yes the 22km a tough course - not many races have that much single track - so makes it quite unique. I always enjoy the community feel and competent organisation of Luke's events

how about between 7.45am and 8am at the registration desk?

Cool, closer to 8.00 for me, I am on the race shuttle which leaves Wellington at 7.30

The registration is supposedly in the Days bay park where the entrance to Butterfly creek trail is? My cell is[masked] I'm aiming to be there by 7:30ish so like Ash said somewhere close to rego area.

Anu suggestion of a good place where to meet up before the race?

    March 23, 2013

For all thinking about signing up - I just registered, and the 'luke' code gives a 33% discount on the fee and forgoes the 'late signup fee' as well - so the $45 becomes $30.

Hi folks, Kana and I did the first part of the run today (until the cut-off point at the Kereru track intersection). It's not that easy to hit the cut-off time of 1hr 45min, but doable. Are you all confirmed and signed up? There are only 50 spaces for the 22km "Extreme Challenge" run.

I haven't downloaded the GPS track yet, also I only have it in pieces not as one consecutive run. But it's not too bad and should be a lot of fun. Remind me on Saturday if I didn't send it to you by then.

Hi folks, Kanako and I signed up and also registered us as team "Wellington Running Meetup" (can't be longer than this). If you want to enter as sports team, follow the registration instructions and at some point in the process, there will be an option to register as part of a team.
