Had a wealth of experience, but seem to be getting a little rusty in my own age...time for some re-greasing and re-appliance :)

What was your most exciting tramp so far?

The 8-day Markha Valley trek in Ladakh (Little Tibet): 5200 metres max, terrible altitude sickness, stunning landscapes, Buddhist monasteries and really beautiful local people.

Which tramp did you always want to do?

A toss-up between a 3 week trek around Ladakh and Zanskar, and Everest base camp.

On a scale of 1-10, how do you rate your tramping experience?

Probably 10, as far as tramping goes, and we don't include mountaineering.

I moved back to New Zealand in part for the tramping, so I'm ready and raring to go. Hopefully this group can organise some tramps that explore most of North Island and some of South Island as well, in the more distant future.
