Doggie Dip at Valley View Aquatic Center

West Des Moines is giving the dogs their day at the pool! For $6 per dog, you can take your Fido swimming at the Valley View Aquatic Center. There is a catch though...there is a limit of 60 dogs per swim session. There are two swim sessions so I suggest we try to later session time of 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. I have this Meetup starting at 6:45 p.m. so you can make sure you and your Fido get in line just in case there are more than 60 dogs who show up to attend. Here is the link to West Des Moines' announcement: http://www.wdm.iowa.gov/Index.aspx?page=116&recordid=5927&returnURL=%2FIndex.aspx%3Fpage%3D197

That was great fun! Weather was wonderful too! Trace wasn't so sure about swimming and tried just running through the water, but Dylan was pretty fascinated. He kept watching the big dogs playing with balls in the pool, and a couple of times, he jumped in not realizing how deep the water was! Then he'd put his front feet on the edge of the pool trying to pull himself out! I helped him out since he couldn't quite get his back feet up there. Then when it was time to leave, I was putting my sandals on and looked over to see him running back out into the water looking for a ball!
