Meet outside the memorial hall, next to the Chequers pub in the centre of Lamberhurst.
There is a small free car park behind the hall but plenty of on street parking nearby.
5-mile evening walk from Lamberhurst village Centre, heading East across the golf course, through the Scotney Castle Estate (distant view of 'castle'), up a long but not very steep hill through Kilndown Wood, then back to Lamberhurst via hop fields. Its not an arduous walk but we will be looking to go at a reasonable pace to complete it in daylight.
The Chequers has a nice rear garden for post walk drinks. They will serve food but the ownership has just changed so the menu is unknown.
Please note that there is a £2 voluntary contribution for non-Rambler members towards meetup fees. Paid up members of the Ramblers are welcome on any of our walks, but we would encourage you to RSVP. This is to give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending, and also to keep the numbers manageable. If, on the day of the walk, you are still on the waiting list and a Rambler member, please let the walk leader know you are coming. On the day of the walk only, the group leader can be contacted on[masked] - voice calls only (no texts).
