Meet outside Maidstone West Railway Station, ME16 8RJ.
14-mile linear Walk from Maidstone to Rochester along the Medway Valley Walk.
First part follows the river bank as far as Aylesford. However, likely to be busy there so please bring a picnic lunch. There is some seating in the churchyard.
Thereafter the path travels through the Medway marshes and a more industrial landscape for a while with a fairly steep climb up onto the North Downs Way affording fabulous views of the Medway from above.
Pub stop in Rochester at the end of the walk.
This is a linear walk finishing at Rochester Rail Station.
Please note that there is a £2 voluntary contribution for non-Rambler members towards meetup fees. Paid up members of the Ramblers are welcome on any of our walks, but we would encourage you to RSVP. This is to give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending, and also to keep the numbers manageable. If, on the day of the walk, you are still on the waiting list and a Rambler member, please let the walk leader know you are coming. On the day of the walk only, the group leader can be contacted on[masked] - voice calls only (no texts).
