Upper Rogue Put-In
Dust off those paddles and come join us for our first Rogue River paddle of the year.
I have to work on Saturday so I can't attend the Pine River Paddle hosted by JC this weekend. So I decided to host this one on Sunday for myself and any of you who can't make the Pine Paddle or who want to get out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine.
Everyone is welcome to join the paddle on Sunday for some much needed water therapy.
Lets meet at 11 mile and Jewell, shuttle to Rockford and do a 3 hour paddle. Afterwards lets meet at Sam's Joint for lunch.
We will shoot for Paddles! In! at 12:45. Group photo before paddles in.
Beginner. This is a great river to get your feet wet with river kayaking.
This time of year, the upper rogue moves just a little swifter, and in years past we have had at least one fallen tree to portage, sometimes three. Weather is going to be super nice but you may want to bring a fleece in case it's windy.
Directions to Jewell and 11 Mile:
131 to Rockford exit. Go west over 131 to Jewell. Go right (North) onto Jewell and go about 1.5 miles to 11 Mile Road. Go left (West) and the put in is on the bend in the road before you go over the river bridge. Be careful or you'll miss the right turn into the put-in spot. Look fore our WMKC signs.
Be aware the parking and boat drop off gets a little crowded at the put in, so be prepared to move your vehicle. Volunteers for shuttle are welcomed, please see one of the organizers.
