Please describe your boat(s).

I have a variety of whitewater kayaks.

How would you describe your kayaking experience? e.g. beginner (not been out yet to a few times), novice(been out more than a dozen times), kayak regularly (been out lots of times),been-there-done- that.(out in all conditions)

Very experienced. Nearly every week between March & November.

Do you accept responsibility for your own safety and the safety of any guest you bring, while kayaking with the group? yes or no.

Yes, of course. We all need to watch out for each other.

Please write briefly about kayak safety? Name a hazard and how you avoid it.

The biggest river hazard is always ignorance. It results in bad judgments that cause bad things to happen. Learning to recognize a hazard is the first step in avoiding it.

Introduction

Hi, I'm Roger. I live in the White Lake (Whitehall/Montague) area north of Muskegon. I paddle rivers only. I'm very active in whitewater paddling (Class II-IV). I try to help people, who are interested, get started in whitewater paddling.

What Roger S. is saying about this Meetup Group

It was nice to see some familiar faces and catch up a bit. Beautiful warm evening with a nice quick flow and high enough water that it was easy to paddle through the shallower spots. It was nice getting a sandwich and beer at the Corner Bar afterwards with a few folks.
