This is a group for anyone interested in light social activities where we can meet and identify with other people who are dealing with depression. I started this group because the importance of socializing is key in managing our symptoms. This is not a therapy group but a once a week meet-up so we can discuss strategies, understand triggers and cope with our illness in a social setting. Events may include dining out and movie dates as well as light exercise activities such as bike riding and walking. I understand that socializing with depression symptoms is difficult , but it is vital in our recovery. Let's live again!
There is no age limit or range to the group, as depression affects everyone, young or old. However, we do have some events on our calendar which are geared toward the younger crowd. Anyone is welcome to come, including the young at heart. If you have any suggestions for future events, please message Karen or Shannon and they will try their best to include it into the calendar.
